Chafing Dishes
For keeping food warm when on the go, chafing dishes are the perfect choice. Using a bain-marie, chafing dishes spread the heat and keep food at a constant safe temperature, although it is recommended that food is stirred occasionally to stop it sticking around the sides. There are several ways to heat chafing dishes; the easiest to use are electric chafing dishes but when you don’t have a power source, chafing liquid or chafing gel are used. These come in different sizes to provide burn times of 2 to 6 hours.
Electric chafing dishes are the safest option as there aren’t any naked flames to beware of, they are cheaper to use, and less messy than fuel-heated chafing dishes. The traditional portable chafing dishes which can be used inside or in the great outdoors are ideal for keeping a variety of foods hot. Using a bain-marie design, heat is distributed evenly through the dish to avoid hotspots and burning.
Our stainless steel soup chafing dishes are perfect for those colder outdoor events and mobile catering, or indoors when there isn’t a power source. With a hydraulic lid and utensil compartment fitted to the side, the soup chafing dishes are used with a gas or electric heat source, and a chafing fuel stand.
